What field sales should know now
You may talk about the awards. You may not quote a SEWP price. You may not take a SEWP order. NASA said holders may market now. NASA said holders may not quote and may not take orders. That is the whole field brief until the contracts are effective and Inspired Solutions is active.
BLUF for a call this week
Inspired Solutions holds SEWP VI Category A 80TECH26D1138 (IT Products, award 24 June 2026) and Category C 80TECH26D0142 (IT Services, award 5 July 2026). The awards are not effective and not active. Expected effective date is 1 November 2026. That date is expected, not final. We will be ready. I cannot quote SEWP and I cannot take a SEWP order today. Rick Pina, Program Manager, will follow up.
Always say both contract numbers. Never say "we have SEWP" as if it were one vehicle. Category A and Category C are separate contracts, separate holder lists, and separate default set-aside rules.
Soft announce, hard outreach, convert
This is a real sequence. Do not skip a month because a buyer is eager.
- Aug to Sep Soft announce. Tell known buyers we hold both awards. Share the two numbers. Point them at the NASA page. Do not send a price. Do not accept a placeholder PO. Open for talk
- 1 October Customers can see Inspired Solutions on the customer-facing SEWP site. Hard outreach starts. Use the past-performance agency list below. Still no quotes. Still no orders. October is browse-only. Browse only
- 1 November Expected effective date. Convert only after NASA makes the contracts effective and Inspired Solutions is active. Do not call 1 November the go-active date. Active is a separate Inspired Solutions checklist date that may land on or after effective. Expected, not final
Joanne Woytek said they do not believe 1 November will change. It is not final. If a buyer asks you to lock a date, say expected, not promised.
What to say. What you cannot say.
Say
- Inspired Solutions holds two SEWP VI awards: Category A 80TECH26D1138 and Category C 80TECH26D0142. Two contracts, two numbers, products and services.
- The awards are not effective yet. They are not active yet.
- Expected effective date is 1 November 2026.
- We are building catalog, CHOP access, AbilityOne, and the quote desk internally so we are ready.
- Official NASA information is on https://www.sewp.nasa.gov/sewpvi, not on an Inspired Solutions customer page.
- I will have the program manager follow up. That is Rick Pina. If he is out, Isabella Pina, Deputy Program Manager and CEO.
- If you are new to SEWP, NASA STAR can walk you through the vehicle. Theresa Kinney is the STAR name we use. NASA will not pick a holder for you.
- GPC will be accepted when we can take orders.
- We quote only what is on contract.
- The SEWP fee is 0.34 percent. It is inside the price. It is never a line item.
Do not say
- Any offer to take a SEWP order, or any ask that the buyer send a SEWP PO today.
- Here is a SEWP quote. Or: I can get you a SEWP price this week.
- The catalog is live. Or: you can search our SEWP catalog now.
- We are active. Or: the contract started. Awarded is not active.
- 1 November is the go-active date.
- CHOP is open. Or: here is the portal link. There is no Inspired Solutions CHOP URL on this desk.
- Labor rates, catalog prices, or a GSA-like number. Rates are blocked. Do not publish them.
- NASA will steer the buy to us. STAR is training and liaison, not a selection.
- You should use a different vehicle instead of SEWP. Never discourage a customer from using SEWP.
- We can quote today.
- We are in CHOP.
- Dell GOLD.
- Demo catalog counts, or any live row count.
- Proposal providers carry over.
- SEWP V equals SEWP VI.
- WWT winning Category A and Category B is a betrayal. WWT is a partner. On a small-business set-aside they are not eligible.
Two numbers, every time
If you name SEWP, name the category and the contract number. If the conversation covers both products and services, say both numbers.
| Say this | Number | Default competition |
|---|---|---|
| Category A, IT Products | 80TECH26D1138 | Full and open. 364 holders. Set-asides shrink the field. |
| Category C, IT Services | 80TECH26D0142 | Small-business set-aside by default. 1,059 holders. 8(a) plus SDVOSB shrinks it further. |
Fee is 0.34 percent. Never print it as a line on a quote, a slide, or an order. Never invent a fee cap.
Who to call
Do not send the buyer to Karen McCleary, Fatima Desi Almanzar, April Moshos, or Michael Nwokeabia. Those lanes are internal build lanes. Do not send the buyer to sewp6@sewp.nasa.gov unless Rick tells you to.
October call list, not a hard sell now
Hard outreach starts in October, when customers can see Inspired Solutions on the SEWP site. Until then, this list is a warm-up roster. It is agencies we already know from past performance. It is not a claim that those agencies have a live SEWP VI requirement, and it is not a reason to quote today.
| Agency we already know | Why they are on the list | What you do now |
|---|---|---|
| U.S. Army | Past performance and relationships. DoD is historically the largest SEWP user. | Soft announce the two awards. No price. No PO. |
| U.S. Air Force | Past performance including FE Warren work. DoD lane. | Same. Do not promise a SEWP delivery date. |
| Department of Veterans Affairs | Past performance and a known IT buyer. VA is in NASA's top SEWP agencies. | Same. Hand SEWP-naive staff to STAR. |
| Other DoD and civilian accounts we already serve | We already have a relationship. SEWP V history shows broad civilian use (DHS, Justice, Treasury, Energy, State, NASA, HHS, and others). | Name the two contracts. Do not invent that we are on their preferred list. |
Do not build a cold list of 364 Category A competitors and try to out-commodity CDW or SHI. Set-asides are how we shrink the field. See Category A and Category C.
SEWP-naive customers go to NASA STAR
If a buyer does not know SEWP, do not teach a homemade class. Hand them to NASA STAR. The name we use is Theresa Kinney. George Nicol is the other relationship name on this desk. Customers who need vehicle training can also use help@sewp.nasa.gov.
What you must not claim
STAR is outreach and liaison, including CxO-level agency work. STAR is not a source-selection official for Inspired Solutions. Do not say NASA will pick us. Do not sit in on a NASA-to-customer conversation. NASA said holders may refer a customer to a SEWP booth and then step out of that conversation.
Never discourage a customer from using SEWP. If they want SEWP, stay on SEWP. If they need a buy before the expected effective date, that is a different vehicle conversation Rick owns. It is not a reason to talk them off SEWP.
WWT is a partner who also holds SEWP
World Wide Technology holds Category A and Category B. Inspired Solutions holds Category A and Category C. WWT is also a partner. Do not treat their awards as a betrayal. On a small-business set-aside they are not eligible. That is the useful fact, not a smear.
Dormancy, for later
After go-live, NASA can place a holder in dormant status. Do not invent a single trigger. The working brief for this desk is: satisfy a quote quarterly, one order per year, attend required meetings, and answer NASA. Contract language also covers program performance and responsibility. Brief the real rule before 1 November. Until that brief, do not tell a buyer we must take their order to stay active.
