Do not offer a Category A product as a SEWP VI item. Do not read a catalog row to a buyer. Do not say the catalog is live. Internal row counts below are build targets, not a live catalog.

What Category A covers

Category A covers the breadth of IT, communications, and audio/visual products, plus product-based services. Commercial off-the-shelf software counts as a product. Software development is a service and belongs on Category B or C, not as a product CLIN. NASA will not answer hypothetical scope questions during start-up. Once we are active, scope questions go to CHRM through Rick.

The catalog is how customers find us. If it is not in the SEWP database, it is not on contract. Providers must be set up before offerings. An OEM part number is required on product CLINs.

What we say about Category A

Say

  • Inspired Solutions holds SEWP VI Category A, contract 80TECH26D1138, IT Products, award 24 June 2026.
  • It is not effective yet. Expected effective 1 November 2026.
  • Category A is products and product-based services. COTS software is a product.
  • We are building the catalog internally. Customers will find us through the SEWP catalog once it is live and we are active.
  • Set-asides are how a customer shrinks a 364-holder field. We do not tell them which NAICS to pick.

Do not say

  • The catalog is live, or here is our SEWP SKU list.
  • Providers carry over from the proposal. They do not. April Moshos rebuilds the file.
  • We will beat CDW or SHI on commodity boxes.
  • Credit-card micro-purchase is open, or the threshold is $15,000 or $50,000. Threshold is unverified. Do not cite those numbers.
  • AbilityOne is filed, accepted, or transmitting. Nothing transmits until NASA says.
  • TR means Task Request. TR means Technology Refreshment.

Catalog, providers, and Technology Refreshment

April Moshos owns catalog, Technical Refreshment, and the daily watch of the NASA SEWP VI page. Providers do not carry over from the proposal. The proposal file is not the catalog.

  • TR means Technology Refreshment, not Task Request. Correct that error if you heard it in a raw note.
  • TR is application-only. No email TR.
  • One CLIN error fails the whole TR. NASA reviews first-come, first-reviewed. There is no expedite.
  • OEM part number is required on product CLINs. UNSPSC is required on all offerings.
  • Providers must be approved before their offerings go on a TR.
  • Open-market items are not permitted. If it is not in the Database of Record, it is not on contract.

If someone asks how many items are on the SEWP catalog, the true answer is: the catalog is not live. We have internal build targets. We will not quote a row count as a live figure.

Do not fight CDW and SHI on commodity

Category A default is full and open. 364 holders. Commodity boxes are not our lane against national resellers. Set-asides are how we shrink the field. Talk relationships, past performance, and the set-aside the customer already intends. Do not invent that NASA will steer a full-and-open buy to Inspired Solutions.

WWT holds Category A and Category B and is also a partner. Do not treat that as a betrayal. On a small-business set-aside they are not eligible.

Credit-card micro-purchase is a future first-order lane

After we are effective and active, a Government Purchase Card buy can be a first-order path. The micro-purchase threshold is unverified on this desk. Do not cite $15,000. Do not cite $50,000. Credit card orders still need a SEWP Control Number. Never send the card number to the PMO. See Quoting.

AbilityOne for products

Karen McCleary owns AbilityOne, ISO, and NIB. Dean Simmons is the NIB contact for products. Status is STANDBY. Send nothing. One AbilityOne submission per holder, not two. Joanne said on 6 August: do not send until NASA posts the path. The 60-day clocks have not started. Do not combine AbilityOne and C-SCRM. They are separate packages.

Do not bypass Karen McCleary

Inside sales does not email Dean Simmons. Field sales does not mail a partial AbilityOne file to NASA. If a buyer asks about AbilityOne products on SEWP VI, take a name and number and give it to Rick. Karen McCleary stays on the package.
