Captain's Night: Flags, Nuggets & the Journal Prompt
- Dressed to impress on Captain's night, celebrating how God has wonderfully and beautifully made each person.
- Nuggets the room carried in from the morning men's and women's sessions: "Meditate day and night." "Exhaustion does not mean completion." "You cannot process new things holding on to the past." "Sometimes God burns what can't be repaired."
- Singleness is a special phase of life and a real unit in the family of God. Legacy is not just for the married: you can leave a legacy in your community, your nieces and nephews, and the people God has connected you to.
- The Red Flag / Green Flag game: the room voted on splitting the bill, three-day text replies, kindness to servers, no close friends, apologizing when wrong, mama's calls, trash-talking the ex, ex pictures still in the phone, "seeing where life takes me," 20 selfies a day, voice notes, Crocs, and more. Standouts:
- No close friends: "Is it bad character, or did the Lord set you apart? It's a season. It shouldn't be forever."
- Apologizing when wrong: unanimous green. "We all have a little crazy; just admit it."
- "I'm just seeing where life takes me": hard no. You need vision and a plan.
- The takeaway: "We all have different graces in life. You just have to know where the Lord is leading you."
Journal Prompt
"Who am I becoming in this season? And what kind of person do I want to be before my next season?"
The Enemy Within: Why the "Don't" Has a Why
- Pastor Sam came from the UK; 30+ years in ministry, 20 as a pastor. In all his counseling of single people, this topic rises to the top, so he faced it directly: the issue of sex.
- "Many times we are told NOT to do certain things, and there never seems to be enough reason why. Tonight there is a why."
- The goal of gathering is not excitement: "At the end of the day, we need your life to be transformed by the power of the Word."
- Theme anchor: 2 Peter 3:18, continue to grow in grace. "You cannot understand yourself if you do not understand who God is."
The Argument, Step by Step
- Two become one flesh by the sexual act, not by the pastor's decree. Sleep with someone outside the confines of marriage, and whatever they were, you have become. "You no longer have the right to say THEY are; now you can only say WE are."
- You are a spirit. You live in a body. You possess a soul. If sexual sin is a sin AGAINST your own body, then the one committing the act is the spirit (the real you), and the body becomes the victim of circumstance. Sex is spiritual first, before it is experienced in the body, and the soul gets the aftermath.
- The anointed vs. the anointing. The anointing rests on the spirit, never on the soul or body. Sexual sin does not affect the anointing; it affects the anointed, and that disqualifies the anointed from making use of the anointing. "That's why you can still sing in the choir and lift your hands." "You can remain functional, but not effective, because effectiveness is not an issue of the anointing; it is an issue of the anointed."
- The Adam principle. When Adam and Eve ate, the body acted on what the spirit had already done, and the violation ignited the death process. Adam did not drop dead that moment, but death began: aging, fear, chaos. "We have the walking dead in our generation: still functional, no longer effective."
- Your body connects you to your world. Spirit connects you to God; soul connects you to self; body, through the five senses, connects you to your world. Sin against the body and the death process starts in your world: "That's why your money is becoming funny. That's why your relationships are iffy. Things wither, not because of aging, but because a principle was violated."
- STDs: sexually transmitted demons. Beyond anything a doctor can treat, the act grants spiritual legal rights. No demon can operate without permission from a spiritual being (Legion had to ask Jesus to enter the swine, Mark 5). Sexual sin is a door that signs that permission, and what enters is harbored in the soul.
- The temple law (Exodus 40, the tabernacle). Outer court, inner court, most holy place. Only the high priest could enter the most holy place, by relationship and by God's permission; anyone else who entered died in there. If your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, the law of the temple applies: every person who enters without God's permission spiritually dies in there. That, he taught, is why a relationship can run two years and fade the moment marriage comes up: the high priest God ordained cannot get access to his bride.
- The rope. The priest was pulled out of the holy place by a rope around the waist: the picture of deliverance. "I came all the way from the UK to pull you out."
You can remain functional, but not effective. Effectiveness is not an issue of the anointing; it is an issue of the anointed.
Pastor Samuel MasambaThe Deliverance Moment
- The instruction: privately write down (paper or phone) anyone who comes to remembrance. Then denounce and cancel: every soul tie, every dead spirit harbored in the soul, every spiritual legal right granted through ignorance or disobedience, including torment in the dream life.
- Being born again regenerates the spirit, but redemption is a process, and these things hide in the soulish realm. Deliverance evicts them.
- The decree over the room: released from bondage, released from soul ties, the enemy's handwriting on the soul canceled, every legal breach closed, walking uncondemned.
- The final decree: calling back to life everything that was becoming dead as a result of sexual immorality: life in your finances, life in your health, life in your relationships.
- "You are no longer defined by your past. The devil takes advantage of your ignorance. They say what you don't know does not hurt you, but in this kingdom, what you do not know will cost you, and the truth shall set you free."
- After-care: pray tonight in your room; "you have begun a war," and desires may feel MORE ignited afterward because the enemy contests freedom. Be intentional. "Do things from a place of knowledge." And if the message was not for you, it is for someone you love: carry it to them.
You don't have to pay for it for the rest of your life. The blood has now taken care of it.
Pastor Samuel MasambaQ&A and Testimonies
- A sister confessed she was offended that a man was teaching the singles' class and almost skipped the session; God used it to confront a soul tie He had already been telling her to release, and to break the deception that the sin was okay. "This right here was for me."
- On toys and self-gratification: perversion is the enemy distorting God's design. "It will look like a physical act, but it is a spiritual act," and those doors open the same bondage.
- On abuse: soul ties do not only come from what you willingly permitted; they can come through what was done TO you. He shared ministering to someone whose torment traced to childhood abuse; confronting and releasing it began their walk of freedom. "Regardless of how it came, the devil has gone tonight."
- A 72-year-old sister testified to complete deliverance and freedom: "Whatever He has to do to get you where you need to be, He will do it."
- A foster mother of two, one of whom was abused, said God told her to record every word so she could minister to her child at home: "If you think God won't keep you, He will."
Seal It
- "When you talk about spiritual warfare, know that your heart is open at this moment, and you need to take time to SEAL it: cover it with the Word."
- "What you heard tonight was Pastor Sam's revelation. In order for it to become YOUR revelation, you have to open up the scriptures he gave you and renew your mind in the Word, so that it won't become a good message you heard on the cruise that one time." That is how deliverance becomes sure.
- The daily prayer: "God, break my heart with the things that break Your heart. Search my heart. Anything I've put in the place where You should be, in any area, I want You to be my everything."
- Up next: Thursday is a free day in Nova Scotia. Friday 8 AM: Prime Time and Young Adult sessions (ages 36-49, pick whichever feels closest; both will be powerful).
Renew your mind in the Word so it won't become a good message you heard on the cruise that one time.

A sister's testimonyThemes
Nuggets
- Legacy is not reserved for the married. Singles leave legacies too.
- "Is it bad character, or did the Lord set you apart? A season shouldn't become forever."
- Vision is a green flag. "Seeing where life takes me" is a red one.
- The two become one by the act, not the ceremony.
- One night is never one night; the temple keeps a record until deliverance clears it.
- After deliverance, expect the counterattack; pray the same night.
- If it wasn't for you, it was for someone you are assigned to.
Reflection Questions
- Who am I becoming in this season, and who do I want to be before my next season?
- Is there a soul tie (chosen or inflicted) that God has already been telling me to release?
- Where have I been functional but not effective, and what door does that trace to?
- What has been quietly dying in my world (finances, relationships, health) that needs the call back to life?
- Which scripture from tonight will I open this week so this becomes MY revelation?
How This Applies to Us
- Answer the journal prompt in writing. "Who am I becoming in this season, and who do I want to be before my next?" Keep it with your Friday notes.
- Do the list, privately. Anyone the Holy Spirit brings to remembrance: write, denounce, cancel the soul tie, and receive the release. The blood already paid for it.
- Seal the deliverance tonight. Pray before bed, cover your heart with the Word, and expect the counterattack without fear.
- Make the revelation yours. Re-open Proverbs 6:32 and 1 Corinthians 6:15-19 this week and meditate until the "why" is your own.
- Pray the search-me prayer daily. "God, break my heart with what breaks Yours. Anything I've put in Your place, I want You to be my everything."
- Walk from knowledge now. Whatever you choose going forward, you know what is happening in the spirit. Don't be stupid.
- Carry it to someone you love. A child, a grandchild, a friend: this teaching is transferable, and someone in your world needs it.
