WHY I SHARED THIS VIDEO WITH YOU
Too many kingdom entrepreneurs feel torn between ministry and business, between abundance and guilt, between getting a job and building something that lasts.
I share a lot of teaching on grace, systems, and leadership. Myron Golden goes straight at what Scripture actually says about business, wealth, and time. I found this message powerful enough to curate for you instead of reinventing it.
The video is titled What God Says About Business from Bible Study With Myron Golden. I am not claiming it as my teaching. I am curating it because it dismantles poverty programming and anchors wealth creation in Scripture.
BUSINESS IS A GOD IDEA
Hollywood and culture say business is evil. Entrepreneurship is bad. Scripture says the opposite.
Myron's core claim: Satan did not create business. God did. The Bible is not a book about religion only. It contains truth that works when you do it.
When he was an assistant pastor, a real estate agent asked why he always talked about business and money. His answer: "Because I don't want to misrepresent Christ in the marketplace."
DO YOUR OWN BUSINESS
Paul did not tell the church to avoid business. He commanded them to pursue it.
- Study to be quiet and do your own business.
- Work with your own hands as commanded.
- Walk honestly toward those outside the faith. Pay your bills on time.
- Have lack of nothing. God linked business to financial integrity and provision.
SLAVES, SOLDIERS, AND OWNERS
Myron found only two workplace job classifications in Scripture (outside kings, priests, and ministry roles): slaves and soldiers.
Almost every major Bible character owned a business. Having a job is not sin, but it is not God's ideal design for your financial life.
REDEEM THE TIME
Ephesians 5:16 is not a soft suggestion. Redeeming the time, in the Greek, means to buy back, rescue from loss, and improve your opportunity.
We were programmed: school, good grades, college, good job, work 40 years, retire. That model broke. God said buy back time. Most people sell time instead.
TIME IS NOT MONEY
Time is infinitely greater than money. When you run out of money, you can get more. When you run out of time, it is over.
Would you trade all your money for three more days of life? Most people say yes. Would you take $100 million if you had to end your life? Nobody wants that check.
PRODUCT VS SERVICE
There are only two types of businesses: product and service. Choose the model that can create wealth without consuming all your time.
HIRE TO BUY BACK TIME
Wannabe entrepreneurs fear hiring costs too much. Successful entrepreneurs fear NOT hiring costs too much.
- No lawnmower so you are not tempted to cut your own grass.
- No mechanic tools even if you know how to fix cars. Not a good use of your time.
- Cleaning lady, pool guy, lawn crew, mobile car wash at your office. You are buying back time.
- Pay people who love what you hate. Pay people who are better at what you are good at.
THE POWER TO GET WEALTH
God gives His people power to get wealth. Not so you can flex. To establish His covenant.
Double-mindedness blocks blessing. "I'd like to do better but not too much better" keeps you bouncing with no direction. Poverty is always the result of spiritual warfare (John 10:10). Christ came that you might have life abundantly.
ABRAHAM: BUSINESSMAN & COVENANT
Abraham was a powerful businessman. His source was God, so he could tell Lot: look every direction, take what you want, I will take what's left.
- 318 trained servants born in his house. Abraham armed them and recovered Lot from five kings.
- Refused the king of Sodom's offer. "I won't let you say you made me rich." His wealth came from God.
- Genesis 15: God established covenant with Abram. Seed as numerous as the stars.
- Galatians 3: We are Abraham's seed by faith in Christ. Same covenant promise.
HOW RICK CONNECTS THIS TO GRACE
- Wealth is not earned by performance religion. God gives the power. You align by faith. That is grace.
- Do your own business from identity, not from panic. You are discovering destiny, not creating it from scratch.
- Buy back time through systems and delegation. The anointing needs systems before multiplication →
- Think in systems about your business model. How To Think In Systems guide →
- Double-mindedness is a faith issue. Rest in what God said. Then act. John 7:17: do His will and you will know the doctrine.

- I accepted: business is a God idea, not a necessary evil.
- I mapped 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 to my current business or career move.
- I identified whether my model is product, service, or hybrid and the time bottleneck.
- I listed tasks I am still doing that I should delegate to buy back time.
- I ran the buy-back-time diagnostic honestly.
- I resolved any double-mindedness about wealth and covenant (James 1:8).
- I connected wealth to covenant, not ego (Deuteronomy 8:18).
- I studied Abraham's businessman faith and source-vs-resource thinking.
- I connected this to grace and systems in Rick's related guides.
